“Hey..Tony…are you ok?”
“Yeah- I’m better than ever!...What’s up?”
“Better than ever?!?......If you say so – but you know, you’ve been down here for three days… without sleeping. …you think that’s normal? Huh?”
“Three days? Really? I thought it’s… still Tuesday.”
“Nop, it’s Friday.”
“Friday….! Oh, good…- you want some shots?”
“……….all right”
Tony and Pepper have been drinking about half an hour in his living room without saying anything each other, but only looking and smiling at each other.
“Tony, are you….are you all right? I mean…..I’m pretty serious here-”
“Yeah, I’m fine- Why not? ”
“How… how could you be so comfortable like that? I really don’t understand. You really make me confuse.”
“Think simply Miss Potts- I did nothing wrong, I think I’ve just done what I have to do – my father said never lie to anybody. I just said the truth- which… maybe people really wanna know.”
“Maybe….you know, every media has been talking about you for 24 hours! All the time- All over the world! Some of them think you got crazy because you said the TRUTH- ‘I’m Iron-man’- Have you ever thought about what could happen because of your saying?....I’m… I’m really lost-”
“Pepper, don’t worry- and please just be happy- everything will be fine tomorrow- everything will go back where they were.”
“Yeah…it’s easy for you to say so…”
It’s been three horrible days after Tony announced that he is ‘Iron-man’. Some people said he’s got crazy because of the thing, which they don’t know, happened to him in Afghanistan and some people….kind of believed him….because he is Tony Stark- As Pepper is his only assistant she had to get rid of her phone right after the nightmare and had to stay in Tony’s house.
“Hey, Pepper- I’m thinking to go on holiday for few weeks. Where shell we go?”
“Holiday? With me? Hmm…..it sounds nice sir, but I doubt that you’ve got the things to sort it out first?!”
“Yeah, I know of course- I’m the man of Stark Industries. Bring the things that I have to sign in.”
“………..it’ not just…”
“Pepper, hurry up- I’m, no- we’re leaving in half an hour- “
“Tony-…..wait a second………Ok, I think it will be very nice for you to have some holiday. I think you definitely have to have, but not me- I’d love to go…but next time…oh… really hate to say this…but, I’m sorry.”
“I thought so….this time I’ll go by myself, but you promise me to go together next time. I’ll take you wherever you want!”
“Appreciate, Tony.”
After this simple and pointless conversation he really left. He said he will be somewhere in Europe. Pepper has started thinking about what she has to do from now on sitting alone in Tony’s marvelous private lab.
Few hours later, she got a bit strange e-mail from the person called Charles Stane. It’s for Tony but anyway he wasn’t there so Pepper opened it.
“I KNOW WHAT YOU DID.
CONTACT ME ASAP.
OR YOU DIE.”
Suddenly, Pepper felt really nervous and alarmed instantly and somehow sensed that it’s not just blackmail because it’s from ‘Charles Stane’ – the only son of Obadiah Stane. She remembered when she met Charles Stane last year. He is the most powerful weapon entrepreneurs in Asia who influenced a lot by his furious father. He’s been in Japan more than 10 years because of his business. But why did he send this kind of email to Tony? Does he know what really happened to his father? Then what? What is he thinking about? Revenge….or something else? She wasn’t sure what she has to do so she called to Agent Colson who only can trust.
“Hello, Agent Colson”
“Hello, Miss. Potts. You are calling because of the mail. Right?”
“How did you know?”
“We, S.H.I.E.L.D, also got one as well.”
“Oh my god, what is he really thinking? what do we have to do? “
“Has Tony seen this mail?”
“Not yet. He’s away. I can send him this but…I don’t want to. He doesn’t say anything but he’s got blanked out his mind nowadays. And also I’m sure he will meet Charles if he sees this….but I don’t want him to meet Charles. He’s exactly same as his father, Obadiah. He could be planning something bad. ”
“I understand your feeling Miss. Potts. We also think this is not that simple. We think it is a formal threat to ‘Iron-man’. Not Tony. We’ve investigated after we got this email and we found that he knows the truth about his father’s death.”
“I thought so....”
“Please give us little bit of time. I will contact you soon.”
“Ok….please.”
Tony has arrived one of the small town in Italy. It was so quiet and beautiful. This is the kind of place where he could clear up his mind. He was quite exhausted, not because of jet lag but because of the public and irritating media-plays. He was expecting some sorts of plays but actually it was much worse than he thought but he thinks it is ok- it could be just a beginning of new life for ‘Iron-man’. There is no regret at all for new life but only feels sad about can’t be a Mr. Big for Pepper. After he came back to his villa and he turned on the TV. “What the hell is going on?” He was in shock. It was one of his main factories of Stark Industries and it got attacked by a monstrous machine – it looked like a robot. “Robot?!? Where is it come from? What is it doing over there??! Ok-ok-- nobody or even no-robot wants me to have some rest-.” He called to Jarvis straight away and asked for figuring out what that robot is and be ready for changing to his power-suit as soon as he gets back home. In his private plane, he called to Pepper.
“Hey, are you ok?”
“Oh, Tony. How are you?”
“How am I? I’ve seen the news already. What’s going on in there?”
“……….It’s Charles Stane. The son of Obadiah. He sent an email to you 2days ago and I replied without asking. I’m sorry.”
“What did you say to him?”
“He said he gonna revenge for his father, so I said…...it was Obadiah’s fault and I think he got mad. He said he gonna come to kill you, Iron-man. And there he is….I’m so sorry. It’s my fault.”
“Pepper, listen to me- It’s nobody’s fault. I’m on my way back home. Where are you?”
“I’m at your……….”
“Hello?? Hello?? Pepper??!”
The phone was cut off. He called her again but she didn’t answer the phone. 10 minutes later he got a call – It was Pepper.
“Hello, Tony- no, no, I should call you Iron-man. I’ve just come to see you but you are not here- so I’ve just played with some other things. Wow, it’s quite fun-That’s why my father really liked to be Sector 16. But you killed my father and there is no such a Sector 16 - but here I am now. Finally the time has come-”
“Who are you? Where’s Pepper?”
“Oh, she’s with me, she’s fine- She’s pretty attractive. Very sexy---Ah, one thing- I’m sorry to say this but she’s got something with her. Something looks like a bomb is hanging in front of her. I don’t know what it is. Please come and join with us. Are you ready? Time is clicking~~”
The man hung up. Tony was sure that it was Charles- and everything was destroyed by him. He knew what he has to do but there weren’t enough time.
Finally he got to his lab and wore his suit – ‘Here’s Iron-man -“Ready Jarvis?” “Whenever you want!” “Ok, let’s go to see Pepper. I miss her so much-.”
Iron-man went to his office where he thought Pepper might be and there she was. – With Jericho missile tied her up in the corner. ‘How could it be….’ he thought. He felt very sorry and miserable. “Pepper, sorry for being late and… I’m sorry.” “No, I’m fine…- you know, the time…9 minutes left.” “Don’t worry, let me handle this.”
“Hey, Here you are! - Before you handle with Pepper, please handle with me first~~~”
There was Charles. He was a robot. It looked quite similar with Sector 16. It fired some kind of gas which make Iron-man can’t see properly. Iron-man had lost his balance for few seconds but he got back quite shortly. Suddenly bombs exploded everywhere. Iron-man blocked all of them. It was a piece of cake for him. “You! You think you can keep this one as well?!” The cluster bombs with electric power transmission attacked one of Iron-man’s legs and it almost went through his leg. Charles came up to Iron-man and stepped on his arc reactor. “Ah…..” “You did kill my innocent father. Now, I’m killing you very slowly- You must learn the pain of the death. Here’s the electric beam that can kill you little by little” Iron-man couldn’t move and getting hard to breathe.
“Tony! Tony!” Pepper was yelling at him. “Pepper…..I can’t…” He was trying to push up Charles. It was tough for Iron-man because of the beam. He felt like his limbs are getting paralyzed. “Tony- Tony- Please, don’t…” Suddenly Iron-man was making a huge growling sound and he gave off Charles. Iron-man holds up Charles as twisting his body and he got dumped out of the building as breaking the entire window around Tony’s office. Charles’ flying buttons, which were at his both side, got broken when Iron-man twisted his suit so he directly drove into the ground. It was the end of Charles’s Sector 16. Both Obadiah’s and Charles’ couldn’t defeat Iron-man. Iron-man ran straight to Pepper and destroyed the Jericho missile a second before it blows up. Pepper got really scared and she was trembling with fear. Iron-man took off his mask. “Are you ok, Pepper?” There was Tony, not Iron-man. Pepper was really glad to see him again. “Tony….” She was crying like a baby. “It’s ok now. It’s all right.” Tony hugged Pepper very tightly. “Pepper, don’t worry- and please just be happy- everything will be fine tomorrow-
